Secrets Of Emotional Intelligence

Post image for Secrets Of Emotional Intelligence

Ever wonder why some people seem to be able to maintain an optimistic attitude and love of life even in the face of what seems like terrible adversity? Or why others seem to get depressed and despondent over even the smallest setbacks?

Wouldn’t you love to know the secrets of a positive, healthy attitude and how such an attitude can impact your physical health?

Emotional intelligence is the ability to take on another person’s perspective. With that achievement comes empathy, sympathy, altruism, the reduction of stress and a kind of wisdom that is in many ways more important that IQ.

And it is the key to aging well and living long.

One thing every single one of the long-lived societies in the “Blue Zones” has in abundance is this ambiguous, hard-to-define, amorphous set of qualities that I’m calling “emotional intelligence.” It includes relationships with self (being at peace, contented and satisfied) and relationships with others. In fact, a fast definition of emotional intelligence is the ability to deal with people effectively from a place of integrity and self-awareness.

Every single study of healthy centenarians shows that the number one thing about them is that they’re connected. There is no such thing as a healthy one-hundred-year-old who is isolated. Scientists would be happy to study any such person or people, but the problem is they just don’t exist.

In “The Most Effective Ways to Live Longer” I’ve included what I call an “Emotional Intelligence Workbook.” By using the workbook regularly you can develop the habits of emotional intelligence, enriching your life and deepening your relationships.

And– in the bargain- improving your health and vitality in immeasurable ways.

Jonny-
I am a 46 yr. old yoga teacher. People constantly ask me for diet and exercise advice and I send them to your blog.

I first read your book “Living the Low Carb Life” and have enjoyed reading your blog. I like your common sense approach to nutrition, health and life. I am looking forward to reading your newest book when it is out!

Janice
